Hippo Partners with DigiLens to Provide Hippo Virtual Care™ on ARGO™ Smartglasses to Revolutionize Care Delivery and Reduce Readmissions

Strategic collaboration will bring specialty clinical support to rural communities and homes via next-generation AR-enabled hands-free mobile computing.

NEW YORK, NY, August 1, 2024 – Hippo Technologies, Inc.™ (Hippo), a global virtual care company delivering solutions for healthcare and medical education leveraging voice and video-enabled wearable computing, today announced that it is partnering with DigiLens Inc., the industry standard in waveguide and materials technologies company that is defining the future of smartglasses. The collaboration will feature Hippo’s next-generation Virtual Care platform on DigiLens’ best-in-class ARGO™ smartglasses to unlock the power of XR and AI-powered healthcare with a view to becoming the premier platform for new virtual care delivery models in the community and in the home.

The Hippo Virtual Care solution combines hands-free, voice-activated, video-enabled headsets at the point of care with a clinical-grade software platform to deliver a “through the eyes of the clinician” viewpoint. This allows first responders, healthcare workers at a rural clinic, or caregivers at home to livestream their activity to specialist colleagues back at the hospital for real-time consults on complex cases. This immersive virtual care experience increases access to specialty care in rural areas and results in faster diagnosis and treatment, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing the overall cost of care.

ARGO™, the first purpose-built, standalone AR/AI enabled device designed for enterprise, government and industrial workers, improves communication and collaboration by digitally enabling the workforce across a range of industries. The smartglasses enable numerous use cases for healthcare providers – from first responders in the field to physicians in the operating room – as well as real-time second opinions and specialty consults, proctoring, medical education, and automated documentation for inspections and surveys.

The pairing of ARGO™ smartglasses with Hippo Virtual Care, the first HIPAA, GDPR and ISO-certified software platform focused on transforming the global medical industry via new care delivery models, will bring specialty clinical support to rural communities and homes with next-generation AR/AI-enabled hands-free mobile computing.

“This partnership with DigiLens positions Hippo at the forefront of mobile computing and AI-assisted healthcare which will revolutionize the way care is delivered,” says Patrick Quinlan, MD, MHA, CEO and Co-founder of Hippo Technologies, Inc. “Waveguide technology like ARGO™, which offers superior visibility and usability, signals a major advance in the evolution of binocular mobility, bringing with it a new set of capabilities and use cases for healthcare. We are excited to be able to combine the most advanced Virtual Care platform with the most advanced smartglasses in the market.”

Ochsner Health, one of the nation’s leading health systems serving the people of Louisiana, Mississippi and the Gulf South, is a strategic investor in Hippo and has also partnered with the virtual care company to improve patient access to specialist services, as well as advance clinician productivity, community outreach, and population health. They will be among the first to trial the new ARGO™ smartglasses, powered by Hippo Virtual Care.

Hippo’s collaboration with DigiLens also opens the doors to new medical use cases by becoming a preferred software solution for DigiLens’ healthcare clients, including the US government and the US Department of Defense.

“DigiLens is aligning with an ecosystem of partners on a geographic and vertical basis, and we’re delighted to be launching this model in healthcare through our partnership with Hippo,” says Chris Pickett, DigiLens’ CEO.
